You know how sometimes you start watching a movie and you’re not sure what to expect… but then boom, it pulls you in? That’s how Chakra felt for me. I went in thinking it’s just another action movie. But halfway through, I found myself sitting up straight, popcorn forgotten, eyes glued to the screen.
Let me tell you what made this one different.

The Story: Someone Took His Dad’s Medal
Okay, so it’s India’s Independence Day. Everyone’s waving flags and feeling proud. But in Chakra, something bad happens – lots of homes in Chennai get robbed on the same day. Not by mistake. This is a big, smart plan. One of those homes? It belongs to an army guy named Chandru (played by Vishal). And guess what? The thieves didn’t just take stuff. They took his late dad’s Ashoka Chakra medal. That’s huge. That medal meant everything to him.
Now, if someone stole something that important from me—like the little bracelet my grandma gave me—I’d lose it too. Chandru doesn’t cry or yell though. He gets serious. Like super serious. And that’s when the movie really kicks off.

Not Just Punches—Lots of Computers Too
This isn’t just a movie about fights and chases. It’s also about tech and hacking. You see Chandru using cameras, tracking phones, digging through online clues. It’s cool, but sometimes I had to pause and think, “Wait… how did he just find that?” But hey, I’ve had to Google how to reset my email password, so I’m clearly not ready for cyber-crime solving.
What I liked was that the villain in this movie isn’t your typical bad guy. Nope. It’s a woman named Leela (played by Regina Cassandra), and wow—she’s clever. She doesn’t yell or go wild. She’s calm, quiet, and scary smart. You almost forget she’s the bad one because she’s that good.

My Favorite Part? The Woman in Charge
I’ve got to talk about Leela again. She really stood out for me. There’s a part where she’s sitting in front of a computer, planning everything like a chess game. I remember thinking, “This could be me playing PUBG… if I was better.” She doesn’t need help. She’s in charge. And her backstory? Sad and strong at the same time.
We need more villains like her. Ones that make you go, “Hmm… she kind of has a point.”

What About the Hero?
Vishal plays Chandru, and he’s your tough, quiet army guy. He walks like he owns every room, talks less, and fights a lot. I liked him, but he felt a little too perfect. You know when someone just never messes up? That’s him. Still, I respected how much the medal meant to him. It made me think about things I hold close—like old family pictures or even silly school notebooks.
Shraddha Srinath plays Gayathri, a police officer working the case too. She’s smart and strong, but I wish they gave her more to do. It felt like she was always a step behind, even though she had good ideas.

Things I Liked:
- The pace: It moves fast! No boring parts.
- The villain: Leela is the real star, if you ask me.
- The tech stuff: A bit much, but interesting.
Things I Didn’t Like:
- Too smooth: Chandru doesn’t seem to struggle much.
- Not enough emotion: I wanted to feel his pain more.
- Shraddha’s role: Deserved more screen time.

So… Should You Watch It?
Yes. Especially if you like action and mystery with a modern twist. It’s not super emotional, but it does make you think. And if you’ve ever lost something that means the world to you, you’ll get why Chandru goes all in.
It’s not perfect, but it’s fun. One of those one-time watches that you’ll enjoy and then talk about over dinner.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
What about you? Did Chakra keep you guessing? Or were you cheering for the bad guy too like I was a little bit? Be honest—sometimes villains just have cooler plans!
