🧠What’s it about?
Okay, so Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins is your classic cat-and-mouse heist thriller—but with a glossy, international vibe. The whole story revolves around this insanely valuable ruby called the Red Sun, and let me tell you, everyone wants it.
We’ve got rival masterminds: Kunal Kapoor playing Vikram, this smooth operator thief, and Jaideep Ahlawat as Rajan Aulakh, a former intelligence guy who’s now… let’s just say, playing for the dark side. Saif Ali Khan? He’s the wildcard—somewhere between good and shady, with his own agenda. The story jumps between Mumbai’s glitter and Budapest’s underbelly, and it’s a total ride.

đź’¬ My Take (aka the fun part)
So here’s the deal—I love a good heist movie. Ever since I saw Ocean’s Eleven as a teen and thought I could totally pull off a casino robbery (I cannot), I’ve been hooked on this genre.
Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins hits a lot of those sweet spots. The pacing? Snappy. The music? Actually good—not just background noise. Shezan Shaikh’s score builds tension without being annoying, and the songs by Sachin–Jigar and OAFF–Savera? Perfect for that “epic slow-mo walk” energy.

Jaideep Ahlawat absolutely steals the show. No surprise there—he’s always been one of those guys who brings weight to every role. Saif, on the other hand, brings his signature cool-with-a-hint-of-chaos thing, and it works here. Kunal Kapoor is solid too—he doesn’t try to outdo anyone, just plays his part right.
There were a few plot moments where I went “oh, I’ve seen this before”—but the stylish direction and sharp dialogue kept things fresh. Also, I found out they did some reshoots with Kookie Gulati in late 2024, and honestly? You can’t tell. It flows really well.

📢 Should You Watch It?
✅ Yes—definitely recommended.
If you’re into twisty thrillers, slick visuals, and watching clever people outsmart each other, this one’s for you. Also, it’s dropping on Netflix on April 25th, so you don’t even have to leave your couch. I’m already planning a popcorn + pajamas night. For more movie reviews and updates visit filmyfly!
