What’s the story?
This movie is about something real that happened in 1919—the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The British Army shot at thousands of innocent people in India, and many lost their lives. C. Sankaran Nair, a fearless lawyer, wanted justice. He took the British to court and tried to prove that they were guilty.
There’s a lot of drama in this film! Imagine this—one side is fighting for truth, the other is hiding it. The courtroom is full of arguments, emotions, and big questions:
- Why did General Dyer open fire?
- Did he even warn the crowd?
- Were those people really dangerous?
And there’s this one powerful line that got stuck in my head:
“Eight… nine… eleven-month-old babies… with bullets in their tiny chests. What weapons did they have? Their Kadas? Or their clenched fists?”

My Thoughts (Before Watching)
Man, this movie looks powerful. Just from the trailer, I can feel the emotion and anger. Akshay Kumar is killing it as C. Sankaran Nair, standing up to the British. R. Madhavan looks like the perfect villain—calm, clever, and totally against Nair. And Ananya Panday? She’s breaking barriers as a female lawyer in those times.
I love history movies, especially when they show real heroes. This one isn’t just about war—it’s about justice.
