Plot/Synopsis: Alright, so we all know the classic nursery rhyme, right? Jack and Jill went up the hill… but what if, instead of fetching water, they were out hunting people for fun? That’s exactly what The Legend of Jack and Jill goes for—turning the childhood rhyme into a slasher flick.
The movie follows a group of unlucky souls who end up in the territory of Jack and Jill, two deranged siblings with a serious taste for blood. As the bodies start piling up, we learn a bit about their twisted past, but honestly, most of the film is just watching them chase and butcher people. If you’re looking for deep storytelling, this ain’t it—but if you like your horror straightforward and gory, you might find something to enjoy.

Review: I went into this one with low expectations, and I’d say that was the right move. The idea of turning nursery rhymes into horror is cool (I mean, The Curse of Humpty Dumpty exists, so why not?), but this one doesn’t quite deliver. The acting is a mixed bag—Sarah T. Cohen does a solid job as the crazed Jack, but some of the other performances feel stiff, like they’re just reading lines rather than living the terror.
The pacing is another issue. There are moments where you’re just waiting for something—anything—to happen, then BAM, there’s a kill. But even those feel a bit uninspired. If you’ve seen enough horror, you’ll probably predict how most of it plays out.
That said, I did enjoy some of the eerie visuals. The movie has that grimy, low-budget horror feel that can be charming if you’re into that kind of thing. But overall, it’s one of those films you throw on when you’re in the mood for mindless slasher fun, not something you expect to actually scare you.
