Plot Overview
You know those action movies where the cops are tough, cool, and always saving the day? Well, The Other Guys is not that movie!
Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) are two NYPD detectives who never get any action. Allen is a nerdy accountant who loves paperwork, while Terry is a frustrated cop who once accidentally shot Derek Jeter (yes, really).
Meanwhile, the city worships the “real” cops—Detectives Danson and Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson), who are reckless but famous for their over-the-top heroics. But when these supercops take an unexpected fall (literally), Allen and Terry get their chance to step up.
What starts as a routine case about financial fraud turns into a wild ride filled with explosions, car chases, and some of the most ridiculous moments ever seen in a cop movie. Can these “other guys” prove they have what it takes?
